"The Last Equation of Isaac Severy" follows Hazel, who, after her grandfather Isaac's death, receives posthumous instructions from him on how to tie up the loose ends of his life's work.  This work turns out to be the mathematician's groundbreaking equation, which cannot fall into the wrong hands.  As Hazel tries to sort through the minimal clues left behind, we are introduced to the other members of the Severy family, each dysfunctional in their own unique ways.

This was my other choice from Book of the Month Club for March, and I have to say I was extremely disappointed.  It was described as being a mystery, but I found that it was very light on mystery and heavy on family drama.  I normally wouldn't mind this type of story, but I did not find any of the characters to be likable.  We are introduced to quite a few members of the Severy family, and I just couldn't connect with any of them.  I also have absolutely no interest in the math and physics aspect of the book, but that's just my personal feelings on the subject.

This book has been very well reviewed from what I am reading, so it seems I'm in the minority here with my opinion.  If anyone reads the book and can tell me what I'm missing, I'd love to hear some other opinions!
