Want to Read Wednesday

Paris: The Novel
by Edward Rutherfurd
Released 4/23/2013

I've wanted to read this for a long time but I've always been intimidated by the size (809 pages!!!) and it's always listed as slightly pricier than I'd like.

I visited Labyrinth Books over the weekend and happened to spot it in the main fiction section.  I was so tempted to finally pull the trigger on it, but at the last second I decided to use the little self control I possess, and I left it on the shelf.

After wandering around the store for a while, I headed downstairs, where the textbooks are shelved.  Fun fact about Labyrinth Books - while their textbook section has traditional college course books, they also have some really interesting books about math, science, and foreign languages.

Downstairs, the first shelf I looked at was apparently the back-up sale section, and right on my eyeline was a sale copy of Paris:  The Novel.  The book in the sale section was listed for $12 less than the copies located in the main fiction section.  I'm guessing that it was on sale due to the back cover being slightly bent, but that doesn't bother me.  Most of the books I own are pretty mangled from being shoved in my bag so I can take them everywhere I go.

It felt like fate that I found such a good price for a book I've been wanting for so long, so of course I had to get it for myself.  This is definitely getting a prime spot in my TBR (to be read) pile.

If you're interested in reading this book, consider using my link to purchase it from Amazon (and help me get more books).
